End of Abia’s suffering imminent – Otti

By  Steve Oko
The Governorship candidate of the All Progressive Grand Alliance in Abia State, Dr. Alex Otti,  has declared that 2019 would mark an end to the suffering of the people of the state orchestrated by bad leadership.
Otti who made the declaration Sunday at the Assemblies of God,  5/7 Item Street Umuahia where he had gone to worship,  said Abia had suffered enough  in the hands of those managing the affairs of the state.
He noted that instead of enjoying basic amenities of life Abians have continued to wallow in abject poverty and excruciating hardship as a result of poor leadership and wastages by those in power.
Otti lamented that instead of using the state’s resources for  development, those running its affairs rather divert them for personal aggrandizement.
He therefore,  urged Abians to take their destiny in their hands in the forthcoming elections and vote out those responsible for their ordeals.
The APGA flag bearer noted that though the church should not be involved in partisan politics,  it could no longer stand aloof and allow evil leaders torment the people with hardship.
He said he volunteered himself for service in order to rescue the people from bondage, and not for what he would benefit from governance.
” When the righteous is in power the people rejoice. I promise to serve Abia with the fear of God .
” I’m not in the race for what I will benefit because I don’t think I even need the salary. All I need is to end the sufferings of Abias.
Otti said his antecedents and track record in the private sector speak volume about his abilities, assuring that under his watch,  Abia will witness economic boom.
Speaking earlier in a homily,  the Senior Minister of the church,  the Rev. Young Alozie, advised Otti against inflicting hardship on the people if he emerges victory at the poll.
He warned that God would judge any leader who delights in the hardship of his subjects.
The cleric called on leaders to strive to spread joy and not hardship and pain.
