Rights activist knocks Mbaka over political remarks
By Steve Oko
Abia – based rights activist, Comrade Paul Njoku, has lampooned fery Catholic priest, Rev. Father Ejike Mbaka over his “controversial” political remarks.
Njoku was particularly infuriated by the cleric’s alleged recent outburst against the presidential candidate of the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Atiku Abubakar, and his running mate, Peter Obi.
Mbaka was reportedly quoted as saying that Atiku /Obi joint presidential bid would end in shame unless they come to his adoration ground for prayers.
Below is a full text of press statement issued by the activist, and made available to Wawa News Global:
“Rev.Fr.Ejike Mbaka is controversially disgracing the institution of Christianity and the Mother Church.
“He has shamelessly ridiculed the Catholic Church in the name of God and fake prophecies.
“Mbaka who has been manifesting … characteristics with his microphone from the pulpit enjoys extorting money from businessmen, gullible individuals and politicians in the name of God’s blessings and winning of elections.
” He has led many Christian and Catholic faithfuls astray. His recent declaration that Atiku/Obi ticket will end in shame if they do not run to his adoration ministry to donate money is the worst form of criminality ever encountered by a Catholic Priest in church history.
” I therefore call on the Catholic Bishop Conference of Nigeria especially the Catholic Bishop of Enugu Diocese to get him arrested, probe him, shut down his adoration centre and hand him over to the police for thorough investigation and prosecution.
“Recall that Mbaka is the same Catholic Priest who “prophesized” or predicted on December 31, 2014 that Muhammadu Buhari is the Messiah of Nigeria whilst Goodluck Jonathan was “a badluck to Nigeria”.
” He released a berated and denigrating Christian song that the former governor of Imo State, Chief Ikedi Ohakim, brutalised a Catholic Priest of Owerri Catholic Archdiocese and locked him up in Owerri Police Station in the year 2014 and latter recanted his clueless allegation for lack of proper details and knowledge of facts. Mbaka has made himself a tiny god and prophet of doom.
“Nigerians are yet to hear Mbaka strongly and openly condemn the maladministration of President Muhammadu Buhari and the ruthless killings in Nigeria by the Fulani herdsmen and Boko Haram.
“Enough of Mbaka’s … and hate speeches from the pulpit.
“Comr.Paul Ikechukwu Njoku.
