Abia PDP reinstates sacked chairman
Steve Oko, Umuahia
The Abia State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Monday, reinstated its Chairman, Chief Johnson Onuigbo, suspended last week by some members of the State Working Committee.

Onuigbo was suspended by 19 members of the SWC and other chieftains of the party for alleged high-handedness and inability to covenene meetings regularly.

All three Zonal Vice Chairmen of the party including : Hon. Matthew Ibe ( Abia North) ; Obinna Nwachukwu (Abia Central); and David Chigbu (Abia South) ; as well as the Organising Secretary, St. Moses Ogbonna; and Youth Leader, David Iro, were among the signatories that had earlier endorsed the suspension of Onuigbo.
The Deputy Chairman of the party, Chief Princewill Onyegbu was asked to stand in for Onuigbo while he was suspended.
But in a joint press briefing, Monday , Onuigbo said the party had resolved “the little misunderstanding ” which he blamed on “the devil”.
He said he had been fully restored, adding that PDP is now better positioned to sweep the 2019 poll.
Onuigbo said the allegations against him were investigated and found to be false , hence his reinstatement.
He said the reconciliation had made the opposition parties celebrating the misunderstanding jittery.
Onuigbo said the opposition “is now in disarray ” as they had wanted to take advantage of the crisis ahead of 2019 but now “they are disappointed”.
His words :”The Governor intervened and we have reconciled. PDP is back on track. It was the enemy that came to cause disunity among us but we have reconciled as one family “.

Corroborating his account, one of the signatories to the communique sacking Onuigbo, Hon. Ibe said the party had reconciled its differences.
He said Gov. Okezie Ikpeazu waded into the crisis and asked them to reconcile, adding that the party is now more united and formidable.
