Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed has dismissed the rumour of an alleged double impersonating President Mohammadu Buhari as “idiotic and bunkum”.
Mohammed who stated this why fielding questions from newsmen Thurday in Abuja urged Nigerians to disregard the rumoure.
Recall that leader of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra, Nnamdi kanu had threatened to expose the “impostor in Aso Rock “, insisting that “the man currently in charge of Aso Rock is Buhari’s double “.
But the Minister described the idea as not only “absolute idiotic but also sheer bunkum, which does not require any response from any responsible government or its agencies.
On the recent killing of Nigerian soldiers by Boko Haram insurgents despite the claim that Nigeria had ‘technically degraded’ the sect, the Minister insisted that the sect had been “technically degraded”.
Mohammed said no territory in Nigeria is currently under Boko Haram control unlike the scenario in 2015.
“it is to the credit of the predenyadministration that insurgents were driven out of Abuja and more than 10 local government areas in Borno, Yobe and Adamawa states, where Boko Haram not only held court but also collected taxes and hoisted their flags freely. “
The Minister described last week’s attack at Metele as a setback, and vowed that the Buhari administration would certainly flush out the insurgents from Nigeria and bring an end to their deadly attacks on far-flung villages and communities in the Northeast.
