Application for fourth edition of Sen Orji’s scholarship scheme opens

Application for the fourth edition of the scholarship programme of Senator Theodore Orji representing Abia Central zone has opened.
According to a press release by his Chief Liaison Officer, Hon. Ifeanyi Umere, the scheme is for undergraduates from the six Local Government Areas in Abia Central senatorial district.
Interested undergraduates are to apply on-line and later submit a ‘print -out’ copy of their application form at the #32 Ojike street constituency office of the Senator as soon as possible.
Wawa News Global recalls that each beneficiary of the annual event receives N100,000 for his /her academic pursuit.
Ten beneficiaries are selected from each of the six LGAs in the zone with five slots reserved for undergraduates from indigent families, while the other five slots are based purely on merit /academic excellence.
No fewer than 180 under graduates in various tertiary institutions have so far benefited from the scheme since its inception in 2015.
The former Governor said the gesture was borne out of his passion for youths in his constituency, stressing that education empowerment remains the best form of empowernent for any society.
Orji whose youth empowerment programme while holding sway as former Governor was outstanding, has promised to sustain the scholarship scheme for as long as he is in the Senate as a way of “giving back to society “.
He has however said he would be quitting the red chamber after his second tenure so as to give way for the younger generation to showcase their metel, a promise he has vowed to keep.

“The process is simple.. Log in ,,apply, bring a print out copy to the constituency office 32 ojike street umuahia.
“No payment. No fee. No connection needed.. Ten students from each of the six local government area will benefit.
“Senator T A Orji is a man with a heart of gold. A great leader and a compassionate father.
“This is the 4th edition. Ochendo global is a promise keeper. He kept his promise to Abians that under his watch an ukwa ngwa man will be Governor for the first time,he kept that promise against all resistance from some notable political figures.
” This is a mark of honor and dignity. A man should keep his word. He promised to keep this scholarship program as long as he remains a Senator.
“He has lately, also promised to be in the Senate for only two term. He will keep the promise. Glory be to God!”
