2019 Abia guber race : INEC affirms Ogah as APC’s flag bearer as 29 candidates jostle for Ikpeazu’s seat

Dr. Uche Ogah has been confirmed as the authentic candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC) for the 2019 governorship poll in Abia State.
The confirmation followed the display of his name along other candidates of other political parties by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) at the commission’s Umuahia office Friday evening.
The name of Chief Ikechi Emenike who emerged in a parallel primaries of the Dr. Emmanuel Ndukwe faction of APC was conspicuosly missing on the list.
He had earlier been rejected by the APC National Working Committee , a decision, INEC seems to have affirmed
According to the list published by INEC, 29 candidates of other political parties including Gov. Okezie Ikpeazu of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) would be contending for the governorship seat in 2019.
The top contenders and their running mates include : Ikpeazu, and Ude Okochukwu , PDP ; Ogah, and Martins Azubuike, APC ; and Dr. Alex Otti, Dr. Uche Emeh, the All Progressive Alliance, APGA.
Others are Dr. Blessing Nwagba, Social Democratic Party (SDP); Mr. Ceekay Igara, Labour Party; and Mr. Kelenna Obonna, African Democratic Congress (ADS), among others.
