Buhari’s govt most unfair to Igbo – Catholic cleric, ‘Ebube Monso’
. Says Nnamdi Kanu fighting a good cause
A fiery Anambra Catholic priest, Rev. Father Emmanuel Obimma, has described President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration as “the most unfair to the Igbo nation”.
The Spiritual Director, Holy Ghost Adoration Ministry, Uke, Idemili South Local Government Area, Anambra State, made the assertion in Onitsha while commissioning the Udobi Ikedunu Shopping Plaza, built by Chief Vincent Udobi.
‘Ebube Monso’ who spoke emotionally while addressing thousands of people who gathered to catch a glimpse of him at the event said Buhari’s anti-Igbo posture was unprecedented since after the civil war.
He noted that the persistent marginalisation and deliberate exclusion of Ndigbo from Nigerian’s power equation were the fuel for the increasing agitation for Biafra independence.
His words : “The present administration has been most unfair to Igbo people, if there is fairness, equity and justice by the present administration in Nigeria, there will not be any reason for Biafra agitation.”
The Catholic priest further remarked that contrary to the views in some quarters that the Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu is championing Biafran cause for selfish reasons, the IPOB leader is rather fighting a selfless good cause.
“Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is not a selfish man, his agitation for Biafra is not for selfish interest, he is crying for justice, equity, fairness and liberation for his people in Nigeria
“That young man is good and honest, he is not selfish, he is a real activist fighting for equity and fairness for his people, if there is equity and fairness, there will be no Biafra agitation because Igbo are everywhere in Nigeria and in the world.
“Mazi Nnamdi Kanu led IPOB is fighting a justifiable cause demanding for Biafra actualization due to injustice and other unfair treatment meted against Igbo in Nigeria.”
“There is so much nepotism, tribalism, intimidation, harassment, unfair and unequal treatment against Igbo people by the present administration in Nigeria, and such treatment justifies the agitation by Nnamdi Kanu led IPOB.”
“I have traveled to over 150 countries of the world for crusade and God Ministry, and the majority of the people I meet in all those countries are Igbo people.
“Igbo people are everywhere in the world, contributing to the building and development of those countries, but in their own country Nigeria, they are not treated fairly, there is so much injustice against them, and that accounts for IPOB demand for Biafra nation.”
He however, assured Igbo people that there is still hope for them in Nigeria, adding that “as far as there is life, there is a place called tomorrow, every average Igbo man has human capital and as far as there is life, there is hope for Igbo man in Nigeria, they should not relent in working hard and believing in God for a better tomorrow.”
In his speech, the Chairman of Udobi Ikedunu Plaza, Chief Vincent Udobi, said he decided to build the Plaza in Onitsha in line with the think home philosophy and employment generation for the teaming unemployed people to have a place of work and do business.
“I decided to come home this time to set up this project so that our people will occupy and do their business, and employ youths who will assistants them in their businesses.
Former President General, Onitsha Markets Amalgamated Traders Association, OMATA, and Chairman of the occasion, Chief Pius Ozoh Anaekwe, called on other well to do Igbo sons and daughter to emulate Chief Udobi, philosophy of enriching his people.
