Orji Uzor Kalu’s listing among 50 Nigerians on watch list won’t affect Abia APC fortunes in 2019
By Steve Oko
Chairman of the All Progressive Congress, APC, in Abia State, Donatus Nwankpa, has said that the listing of the former Governor of the state and APC chieftain, Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu, would not diminish the party ‘s fortunes in the 2019 polls.
Kalu who is the Abia North senatorial candidate in the 2019 election was listed among the 50 eminent Nigerias banned from traveling by the controversial Executive Order 6 .
Nwankpa told Wawa News Global in Umuahia the development rather than be seen as bad omen for the party, should rather be seen as a confirmation of the sincerity of APC in its anti graft war.
He said the listing of Nigerias from different political parties shows APC does not discriminate in the fight against corruption.
“It only shows that there are no sentiments or sacred cows in the fight against corruption and the efforts of the Federal Government to sanitize the system “.
Nwankpa however added that the listing did not mean that those whose names appeared on the travel ban were guilty until proven in a court of competent jurisdiction.
