Abia 2019: PDP in panic mood because of me – Uche Ogah
. Says PDP plotting to stop him from picking APC ticket
By Steve Oko
A frontline Governorship aspirant of the All Progressive Congress, APC, in Abia State, Dr. Uche Ogah, has said that the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the state is jittery over his bright chances of picking the APC ticket.
The oil magnet who stated this at Ugwunagbo while addressing APC members ahead of the party ‘s primaries on Saturday said PDP “is gravely scared ” of him, hence, the party would not want him to get the APC ticket.
According to him, ” PDP knows that the 2019 election is over if I get the APC ticket because Abians are yearning for me “.
He said : ” I am the one who has the capacity to crush PDP; that’s why they are working to make sure I don’t get the APC ticket but man cannot stop God’s will.
” I urge you to unite together and bring out somebody who can change the Abia story. Abia, again, has the opportunity to change the narrative by giving me APC ticket to dismantle PDP and reposition the state.
“I have both the national and international connections to develop Abia. I know the right buttons to press. I have done it in the private sector and I am ready to replicate it in governance.
” I am not in politics because of money but to use it as a platform to affect more lives. Let us forget politics of sentiments and zoning which only breed mediocrity.
” Again let me say it ; I didn’t come because of money. I came because God called me to bring joy and better life to Abians.
“I will resign if after two years and there is no remarkable difference between me and PDP administration. “
Ogah accused PDP-led administration of under-developng the state, saying it is bereft of ideas of what to do.
“I feel sad when I see the level of under development in my state. For example, in 2014 I was here ( Ugwunagbo) and I didn’t see any good road. In 2018 I am here again and I haven’t seen any good road.
“Is the Governor now not from Abia South? Why is he not fixing the roads? That’s why I say we should forget about zoning and look for someone who will develop Abia.
” With your support I will fight to ensure Abia is developed. Vote me in as your Governor and I will change the Abia story. “
Ogah said APC members in 12 Local Government Areas where he had gone to canvas support ahead of the party ‘s primaries slated for Saturday, had already adopted him as their consensus candidate.
He, therefore, urged the party members in Ugwunagbo to vote for him to enable him actualise his dream.
Ogah who also visited Umuoba Isiala Ngwa South LGA with the same message said he was looking for “a friend like the biblical Jonathan” among the Ngwa nation whose unconditional love for David helped in facilitating God’s purpose for the son of Jesse.
Wawa News Global reports that people cutting across party divides trooped out enmass to receive the oil baron anywhere he visited , assuring him of their support for his ambition.
Ogah was accompanied on the tour which would be rounded off Thursday with a visit to Bende and Ohafia, by members of his Campaign Organisation and some APC chieftains including Ambassador Chidike Ukauwa who had recently withdrawn from the race in honour of Ogah.
The Director General of his Campaign Organisation , Chief Uzo Egbo ; a former Special Adviser (Media) to former Abia Governor, Joshua Ogbonnaya, among a retinue of his core supporter were on the entourage.
