Ten Edo youths arraigned, remanded in prison custody  for stoning Gov Obaseki

Ten youths were Thursday arraigned before a magistrate court in Irrua, Edo Central Senatorial district of Edo State for allegedly attacking and stoning the convoy of Gov Godwin Obaseki. 
Meanwhile their arraignment sparked tension in the town as other youths and family members who see their prosecution as political persecution stormed the court premises. 
The accused, mainly teensgers were said to have attached the Governor’s convoy  when he attended the All Progressives Congress, APC leaders’ meeting in Irrua, the Esan Central Local Government headquarters on August 20.
 
Three count -charge bothering on misdemeanor  was slammed on the youths before a Magistrate Court II in the State capital.
 
They were later remanded in the prison custody after the Magistrate,  C. A Nwoha turned down the bail application by their lawyer.
President of Esan Youths Movement, Mr Kingsley Ohens, later in a statement gave the names of the 10  accused persons as  Shamataver Daniel, Chiko Junior, Chiko Pender, Ejobosemele Stanley and Akhilomen Jeffrey.
 
Others are Odia Benson, Jude Malo, William Sunday, Ilenikhena Emmanuel, and Collins Airemiokhale.
The youth President faulted the decision of the Magistrate to remand the accused n prison for bailable offense.
He called on President Muhammadu Buhari, the APC national Chairman, Adams Oshiomohole, and the International community to prevail on the court to free the youths.
