Isiguzo consoles Sen Adeyemi, Benue NUJ over wife, chairman’s demise

The National Vice President of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Zone C, Comrade Chris Isiguzo, has condoled with the former National President of NUJ, Senator Smart Adeyemi over the death of his wife, Mrs. Yemisi Adeyemi.
Mrs. Adeyemi reportedly passed on Saturday in Abuja after a brief illness.
Isiguzo who is also a frontline NUJ presidential aspirant in the forthcoming convention in Ogun State said he received the news of the incident with rude shock.
The NUJ presidential hopeful in a press statement he personally signed , described the deceased as “a pillar of support, home builder and care giver, whose death will be felt by not only the Adeyemis but humanity in general.”
He urged Senator Adeyemi to take solace in the fact that his late wife lived a life of legacy.
The statement read in part : “It is with deep sense of pain and sorrowful heart that I received the very sad news of the demise of Madam Yemisi Adeyemi, wife of the reverred former National President of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Senator Smart Adeyemi.
“On behalf of my family, NUJ Zone C and the Rescue Mission Organisation (RMO), my presidential campaign outfit, I offer my deep condolences to our senior colleague and brother, Sen Adeyemi and his family, and indeed the entire NUJ family for this painful loss.
“It is noteworthy that the demise of Mrs. Adeyemi must have left a big vacuum that will be impossible to fill, but we must remain grateful to the Almighty God for her life and legacies.
“As we wish her peaceful rest in God’s bosom, we urge the family to bear this irreparable loss with courage and hope in God.”
In the same vein, Isiguzo has also expressed shock over the sudden death of the Benue State Chairman of NUJ, Mr David Ukuma.
In a press statement issued by his Campaign Organisation, Isiguzo said Ukuma’s death was tragedy to the NUJ family.
The statement signed by the Director General of his Campaign Organisation , Alhaji Ali Atabor said the incident had thrown NUJ into agony.
Isiguzo described the deceased as “a vibrant labour leader and consummate professional who gave his all in the struggle to dignify our noble profession and enhance the welfare of colleagues.”
He noted that “although, death is a necessary end for all mortals, we find Ukuma’s death very tragic and saddening, his glorious life being cut short by wicked death at his prime, and at a time his contributions and services to family, NUJ and humanity are needed most.”
The statement further said : “Rescue Mission Organisation deeply mourns with the immediate family, his media organisation, Benue Council of NUJ, NUJ Zone D and NUJ in general for this irreparable loss.
“As we pray for the eternal repose of his soul in the bossom of the Lord, we also urge all to take solace in the fact that David Ukuma lived a worthy life and left legacies of hard work, integrity and honesty.”
