2019: Abia former AG, Onyendilefu joins race for House of Reps
.Warns against hate-speech

The immediate past Accountant General of Abia State, Sir Gabriel Onyendilefu has declared his intention to run for the Isiala North/Isiala South Federal Constituency in 2019.
Speaking during a formal declaration on Tuesday at the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Isiala Ngwa South secretariat, Omoba, Onyendilefu expressed hope that he would be nominated by PDP to run.
He said that his mission in politics was to devote the remaining period of his life to chat a course for socio-economic and political emancipation of his people.
Onyendilefu said the people had not had good representaion, but promised to bring about the desired change.
He said that if elected, his proposed constituency projects would be focused on functional and fully equipped acquisition centre.
The former accountant general also said that he would institute bursary endowment funds for undergraduates, as well as ensure renovation and construction of health centres, among others.
Speaking with newsmen, the retired Permanent Secretary warned politicians against hate-speech as the nation prepares for 2019 elections.
According to him, politicians should rather tell the people how they would alleviate their sufferings, instead of maligning others.
On security, he expressed worry over the planned ‘Operation Python Dance III’ exercise in the South-East by the military.
“I don’t think ‘Operation Python Dance’ is needed in the South-East.They should do it in the North-East where we have serious security challenge,” he said.
