An Abia -based cleric, the Rev. Evans Paul Chimeremeze, has predicted that the rescheduled 2019 general elections will not hold.
The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, had rescheduled the presidential and national assembly elections for February 23 after they were aborted few hours before the earlier date of February 16.
The governorship and state houses of assembly polls have also been shifted to March 9.
But the cleric who addressed newsmen Tuesday at the Nigeria Union of Journalists , NUJ office Umuahia said God told him that the rescheduled polls would still not hold.
According to him, God is angry with Nigeria and wants to purge the country of evil forces in the corridors of power.
The founder of Praise & Truth Ministry who until two years ago was a minister with the Assemblies of God Church for 22 years, said God told him there would be no election in Nigeria “until the land is cleansed.”
He said former President Olusegun Obasanjo brought “foreign idols to Nigeria during the 1977 FESTAC “, adding that until Nigeria is cleansed, the country cannot forge ahead.
The cleric said God allowed Obasanjo to become President again in 1999 after his imprisonment, hoping he would use the opportunity to right the wrong but he, instead disappointed God.
He said “God is angry with Nigeria because most key political offices are occupied by ritualists and God wants to get rid of them “.
“Politicians have killed Nigeria “, he said, adding that God is about wiping them out so that he will heal the country.
The cleric said God had earlier revealed to him that the botched February 16 polls would not hold, but regretted that people made caricature of him when he disclosed the message.
He further said that no election would hold in Nigeria “until there is a national cleansing”, adding that any body who attempts to forcefully conduct election in the country will meet the wrath of God.
The Rev. Chimeremeze said President Muhammadu Buhari should consult with him so he could disclose to him some aspect of the message which is confidential.
“God told me a secret which I will not disclose until Buhari comes to see me “.
He warned that if Buhari attempts to flout the divine instruction, he would incure God’s wrath.
“I cannot go to Buhari because they (security aides) will not allow me but he can contact me through my number : 08037066765.
“After Saturday he will run away from his office unless he is prepared to allow for the cleaning of the country.
“God wants to cleanse the country and bring on board men he has ordained to fix Nigeria “.
The Amizi Oloko Ikwuano -born Man of God said he was not looking for cheap popularity but only wanted to convey to Nigerians what must soon take place.
