In his acceptance speech, Nwosu said SDP was already witnessing large influx of members across the 17 Councils in the state.
He expressed hope that the party would sweep the 2019 polls considering its growing popularity both in the state and the country.
Nwosu said the ruling Peoples Democratic Party , PDP-led administration in the state should start preparing its hand-over note , saying it has failed to meet the aspirations of the people.
Speaking earlier, the Chairman of the state congress committee, Mr. Effiong Umah, thanked delegates to the congress for their peaceful comportment and urged them to remain steadfast in the party.
He said SDP was the party to beat in the 2019 election, adding that a number of notable political bigwigs across the country are on their way to the party.
The congress was attended by large members of SDP from the 17 Local Government Areas in the state.
